Awww, now here’s a movie I can get behind 100%. I read all the Beverly Cleary books, but Beezus and Ramona were definitely two of my favorite characters. Now a Fox 2000 film titled “Beezus and Ramona” is headed to theaters March 19, 2010. Directed by Elizabeth Allen (“Aquamarine”), it stars Ginnifer Goodwin as 10-year-old [...]

It’s hard to think about the words “rape” and “love story” together in a title, but here it is. Samuel L. Jackson will play a sympathetic cop who offers kindness and comfort to Bello’s [...]

I can’t think of anyone more suited to play Richard Pryor than Eddie Murphy. Murphy used to impersonate Pryor in his stand-up routines, and even cast him in his directorial effort, “Harlem Nights.” Now Murphy is attached to play Pryor in a new film, “Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?” That title will likely [...]

Posted - 2:02 pm on February 26, 2009 by Jane Boursaw in Film Gecko
If Russell Crowe can play Robin Hood, then I guess Cate Blanchett can play Maid Marian. She’s just signed for the Ridley Scott-directed movie for Universal Pictures. Once called “Nottingham,” the movie is currently undergoing a name change. Ok, so why do I sound a little skeptical about these two? Because they both seem kind [...]

The stars of Oscar darling “Slumdog Millionaire” have wasted no time lining up their next films. I’m always so excited to hear any “Twilight” news, and this one is awesome. The third installment of the vampire franchise, “Eclipse,” now has a release date: June 30, 2010. And since the second movie, “New Moon,” hits theaters Nov. 20, 2009, fans won’t have to wait long for “Eclipse.”

It seems like Sandra Bullock is back to making movies. She hadn’t really done much since 2007’s “Premonition,” but now she’s got two movies this year, and also just signed for “The Blindside.” “The Blindside” is based on a novel by Michael Lewis, “The Blind Side: Evolution of the Game,” and tells the true story [...]
